Apple and Google Ordered to Remove Nude-Swapping Apps

The tech industry has been rocked by a recent wave of cease-and-desist letters sent to Apple and Google, demanding that they take down apps that enable users to swap or remove clothing on people’s images. These apps, often referred to as “nudify” or “undress” tools, have been widely criticized for their potential to be used for malicious purposes, such as spreading revenge porn or facilitating online harassment.

According to reports, the cease-and-desist letters were sent by a group of advocacy organizations, including the National Center for Safety and the
